The Sanremo prize comes to life with TIM and EDI Italian digital effects

Milan, January 26 2018 – EDI Effetti Digitali Italiani, a post-production and visual effects company for cinema and advertising, has transformed the lion and palm tree, depicted in Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s Fountain of the Four Rivers in Piazza Navona, into life to compose the iconic Sanremo prize in Tim’s new spot.

The lion and the palm of the fountain change their appearance: the lion, whose skeleton and musculature have been recreated by the EDI Creatures department to be able to animate it, leaps to position itself next to the palm and together they turn into gold and go to compose the prize of the Sanremo Festival. In the meantime, the background of the scene also changes and gets lost in the night sea to represent the logo of the event and allow you to leave the square environment.

Stefano Leoni, VFX Supervisor and partner of EDI Italian Digital Effects says: “We are satisfied with the result obtained and above all with having collaborated with an important company like Tim. Being able to relate the fountain and such a symbolic prize for all Italians with the visual effects was a major challenge. We would like to thank Tim and Havas Milan for this.”
