Plot. Bruno Ledeux, is a 40-year-old Swiss-born insurer living in Turin. Seemingly calm and serene, the man hides two very important secrets, of which he keeps even his wife Anne in the dark: he has discovered that he cannot have children and is in heavy debt to the bank, run by Giorgio Neri , who is actually an unscrupulous loan shark. One day the director Neri disappears and suddenly appears Luca, an introverted and mentally unstable, who is well acquainted with Bruno's financial situation. As perfect strangers, the boy and the insurer slowly discover that they are united by the same contempt for their respective fathers, selfish and insensitive men who indelibly marked their childhood. Bruno therefore has no difficulty in understanding the extreme gesture made by Luca, who has killed his father Giorgio with his own hands....
