Carnera: The Walking Mountain

Plot. A giant who believed in the value of family, of one's roots, in the ability to sacrifice oneself for a better future and have the willpower in pursuing a dream deemed impossible. It is the 1930s. A man of more than two meters in stature becomes one of the most amazing legends in sports history: his name is Primo Carnera, but the whole world knows him as The Walking Mountain. Born in 1906 in Sequals, a small town in Friuli, Carnera emigrated at a very young age to France, to Le Mans, in order to survive the misery that oppresses Italy. There he is noticed by Paul Ledudal, owner of a circus who convinces him to transform himself into Juan Lo Spagnolo, the terror of Guadalajara and to perform as an attraction. In the course of his wanderings, Ledudal's circus arrives in Arcachon, a town in the south of France, where former French heavyweight champion Paul Journée. It is he who notices Carnera and points him out to the most famous boxing manager of the time: Léon Sée. Under Sée's experienced and unscrupulous guidance, Carnera realizes a dream thought impossible: in 1933, at Madison Square Garden in New York, the Walking Mountain defeats Jack Sharkey and won the world heavyweight title.
