VFX
The team worked on numerous shots to accompany the narrative of the thriller presented in competition at the Venice Film Festival 2023. An almost ubiquitous element throughout the duration of the film is a huge fire looming in the background and imprisoning the city in a black cloak, recreated along with the migration of birds choked by its dust. Crucial to the unfolding of the story are the continuous blackouts that hold the city hostage and allow the criminals to be able to operate in the shadows. Powerful are the overhead images of highways and buildings that gradually become engulfed in darkness. Visual effects interact with the super cast consisting of Pierfrancesco Favino, Toni Servillo, Valerio Mastandrea, Adriano Giannini and Francesco Di Leva, who during the confrontations do not fail to wound their enemy with gunshots. “Adagio” is produced by The Apartment Pictures, a Fremantle Vision Distribution, Sky Group Company and AlterEgo.
