Nine Lives

EDI Italian Digital Effects worked on the creation of the visual effects for the film to be released on December 7 in Italian cinemas, with Kevin Spacey, Christopher Walken and Jennifer Garner, directed by Barry Sonnenfeld. The comedy, which was released in the US in August with the original title “Nine Lives”, is distributed by Lucky Red and produced by EuropaCorp and features a wealthy businessman (Kevin Spacey) from Manhattan who finds himself trapped in the body of a cat.

The Italian post-production and visual effects company EDI, which already has several American films to its credit, oversaw over 150 sequences of the film and followed, in particular, the inclusion of (trained) cats in the sets and their acting parts alongside the actors, in the different situations of the film. In addition to the classic compositing scenes shot on green screen, EDI also created the design of part of the technological interfaces used by Kevin Spacey: one above all the touch screen clock.
