Plot. Genoa. Francesca is a working girl, spends a life like many, and has a flaw she does not accept, a big birthmark on her face. Luca is a blind musician who expresses himself on the edge of notes. A love will be born between the two, controversial rather than different, and problematic for Francesca who continues to "not see herself" as she would like. The self-produced film, directed by Francesco Fei, is a portrait of two hidden existences. All emotions and manifestations are not seen because they are kept away. There are those who do not really see and those who do not want to see themselves, and just as the sea never appears on the screen in the city of the "Lantern," the evidences should not appear either. Words become superfluous, and it is the music and sounds that act as background to the researched images(Fei is a director of music videos), some times too complex. Onde tries to analyze a borderline situation (but already seen in cinema), with an innovative and personal slant, which makes it a film undoubtedly of interest in the panorama of new Italian cinema, if only for having the courage to experiment.
